You are booked

Your strategy call is confirmed

A quick hello from your Scribe author strategist, and how to get the most out of the call.

One more thing: expect a call before then.

Your author strategist will call you ahead of your booked time, often within the hour during business hours, to say hello and make sure the call is a fit. The call comes from 512-325-0249. Save it so you know it is us and not a stranger.

What a book did for authors like you

Real authors. Real numbers.

None of these people wrote to sell copies. They wrote to open doors, and the doors opened. Every figure below is from a published Scribe success story you can read in full.

If the full program feels like a big first move

There is a smaller first step.

Plenty of our authors started here. Ask your strategist about it on the call, and they will tell you honestly whether it fits.

Before the call

The questions almost everyone asks.

Honest answers, so you can spend the call on your book instead of on the basics.

What actually happens on the strategy call?

Fifteen minutes with an author strategist. They will ask about your book, who it is for, and what you want it to do for you. Then they will tell you which path fits, what it costs, and how the process works. If Scribe is not the right fit, they will say so. There is no pressure and nothing to sign on the call.

Do I really not write anything?

With Scribe Professional and Elite, no. You are interviewed by a professional writer in a series of recorded conversations, and they turn your ideas, stories, and frameworks into a manuscript in your voice. You review real pages early and often, and nothing moves forward until you say it sounds like you.

If you would rather write it yourself, Guided Author pairs you with a book coach, and Scribe Publishing takes a finished manuscript through editing, design, and publication.

How much of my time does it take?

For Scribe Professional, plan on roughly 50 hours over the life of the project: a handful of strategy sessions to build your roadmap, ten two-hour interviews, and reviewing the manuscript section by section. Most books go from first call to launch in nine to twelve months. Books with a finished manuscript move faster because the writing is done.

Will it sound like me?

This is the most common question we get, and the process is built around it. You interview and choose your writer from a short list matched to your voice and subject. You see preview pages after the first interviews and again at the midpoint. If it is not landing, we stop and fix it before anything else is written. We have done this for more than 3,000 books.

Who owns the book?

You do. Every right, every royalty, every dollar, forever. Scribe never takes a share of your book's income and never holds your files. You can quote it, repurpose it, turn it into a course, or write the sequel, and you do not need our permission for any of it.

Will I make the investment back?

Almost nobody earns it back on book sales alone, and we will tell you that on the call. The authors who do earn it back, sometimes many times over, treat the book as a business asset: it closes warmer clients, raises speaking fees, opens media and partnerships, and does the trust-building before the first meeting. The results above are the pattern, not the exception, for authors who use the book that way.

Why not a traditional publisher?

A traditional deal means giving up your rights, most of your royalties, and control over the title, cover, and content, in exchange for an advance most first-time nonfiction authors never see. Scribe gives you the same professional standard of editing, design, and distribution while you keep everything. Kyle Thiermann, whose co-author has published with the majors, put it this way: it is every bit as professional as having gone through a Penguin Random House.

How is Scribe different from other hybrid publishers?

Two things. First, Scribe is the only one that will write the book for you at this standard; most hybrids only publish what you hand them. Second, we work for you. That means honest advice about what your dollars actually buy, including when a service another publisher is selling you, like bookstore distribution, will not move the needle for your kind of book. Ask your strategist about it directly. They will give you the numbers.

What if I do not click with my writer?

You choose your writer from a short list of people who already asked to work on your project, so it almost never happens. If it does, we reassign you at no cost.

How do payments work?

Every program is paid in equal monthly payments over the life of the project, with a $1,000 deposit at signing that comes off your first payment. Nothing is due until you sign an agreement, and your strategist will walk through the exact schedule for your path on the call.

What if I am not sure I am interesting enough?

We hear this from some of the best authors we have ever worked with. If you have built, learned, or lived through something with intention, you have a book worth reading. You do not need to be famous. You need to be clear, honest, and willing to help the reader, and the process is designed to draw that out of you.

We give away our entire process. Free.

The Scribe Method is the complete playbook we use with every author, written by the founders of Scribe Media: how to find the one idea your book is really about, structure it, get it written in your voice, publish it, and put it to work. Most publishers guard their process. We would rather you know exactly how this works before you ever pay us a dollar.
