Nicolas M. Chaillan is a serial entrepreneur, former US government executive, and one of the few people alive who has built AI systems for both the Pentagon and the private sector. He served as the first Chief Software Officer of the United States Air Force and Space Force. He founded Ask Sage, an AI platform deployed across government networks, and sold it for $250 million in 2025. Over 25 years, he has started 13 companies and built 190+ products. Born in Marseille, France, he came to America at 26 and built his career from code. He lives with his wife and their three daughters.
