Dr. Joseph A. Rotella is a board-certified family medicine physician and doctor of chiropractic with more than two decades of clinical experience. He founded and built a multidisciplinary medical practice from the ground up that grew to serve more than twenty-five thousand patients. Throughout his career, Dr. Rotella recognized that excellent medical care depends not only on making the right diagnosis, but also on helping patients understand what to do after they leave the office. This realization led him to develop the PENCIL framework and found Pencil Health, an initiative dedicated to transforming patient education into standardized written care plans that patients can understand, follow, and remember.
