Monika Stone

Monika Stone is a certified professional midwife (CPM) and licensed midwife who has attended home births in Austin, Texas for more than two decades. Trained as a pediatric nurse in Munich, Germany, she worked as a birth doula in Austin for eight years before completing the Association of Texas Midwives training program, where she graduated as Student of the Year in 2011. She has since served as the primary midwife to hundreds of women and delivered hundreds of babies at home. In her book, Why Choose Home Birth, she shares the history and safety of home birth, explains the credentials and services of midwives, and dispels common myths about giving birth at home.
