About Parivash Minou
Parivash Minou Michlin, who also writes as Dr. Minou Soumekh Michlin, is a Professor Emeritus of Social Work at Southern Connecticut State University. Born in Iran, she contracted polio as a child and went on to work as a social worker in Tehran's Jewish community and to oversee day cares across the country before building an academic career in the United States. Now living in California, she is the author of the memoir I Kept Walking: The Unlikely Story of a Persian Woman with Polio, written with Gali Kronenberg, which recounts her refusal to be limited by illness or by the expectations of a conservative society.
