About Rick
Rick Scadden is a pastor at City Point Church in Loveland, Colorado, and the author of Four Time Felon: Finding Hope in the Ashes. He grew up on food stamps and welfare with young parents who struggled with addiction and a father who was in and out of prison. A high school dropout, he served five and a half years in prison after a car accident that changed his life, and he turned his life around while he was there. After the book launched in January 2026, Rick and his wife started Hope Beyond Bars, a nonprofit that puts copies of the book into prisons, county jails, and halfway houses. He has now given away more copies of the book than he has sold.
