Always the Music

Thomas W. Morris is one of the most influential leaders in the American orchestra industry, with a career spanning more than fifty years. A trained percussionist, he served as the chief executive of both The Cleveland Orchestra and the Boston Symphony Orchestra and as artistic director of the Ojai Music Festival. He is active nationally and internationally as a consultant, lecturer, teacher, and writer, and has served on the boards of the Curtis Institute of Music and the Interlochen Center for the Arts. He is the author of Always the Music, a memoir of his life in classical music and a prescription for the future of the American orchestra.
