Alejandro Mesa

Alejandro Mesa Gomez is the CEO of Iluma Alliance, a business ecosystem that merges advanced technologies with life sciences, knowledge, and innovation to design and accelerate solutions that nurture people’s well-being and enhance nutrition and food functionality.

Previously, he was Executive Vice President and Business Development Manager at Premex S.A.S., a company within Iluma Alliance, and participated in the internationalization process and strategic transformation. In addition, he worked as a Management Associate in Schering Plough Corporation in New Jersey and has been actively engaged as an entrepreneur in creating companies in Agribusiness, food, and biotechnology.

He actively advocates for the role of private companies and entrepreneurs in the transformation of social realities and value creation in the construction of more prosperous societies.

He is the Board President of Junta de Cámara de la Industria de Alimentos Balanceados – ANDI. Additionally, he is an active member of the boards of Vitamin Derivatives in Athens, Georgia, and Universidad EIA en Colombia. Recently, he was appointed as a member of the Board of Directors of Corporación Ruta N en Colombia.

He graduated as an agronomist from Zamorano (Pan-American Agricultural School in Honduras). He holds a BSc in Food and Resource Economics from the University of Florida and completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at Thunderbird, Arizona. Additionally, he participated in executive programs at Harvard Business School, Singularity University, and Haas School of Business in Berkeley.
