About Devin
Devin Fish was born and raised in Rockford, Illinois. After graduating from Jefferson High School, he joined the Army on June 7th, 2016, and served for nearly 10 years as a Cavalry Scout and later as a Career Counselor. During his time as a Career Counselor, he wrote Answering the Hard Questions while on a deployment to Kuwait. The book highlights early childhood trauma and the need for meaningful change. Throughout his life, Devin faced instability, self-hatred, addiction, and the tragic hospitalization of both parents and himself. Despite all obstacles, he broke a generational cycle and has inspired many others to do the same. In FY21, he won the 1st Cavalry Division Retention NCO of the Year at Fort Hood, Texas, which led to a class seat to become a Career Counselor in 2022.
