Answering the Hard Questions

Answering the Hard Questions

by Devin Fish

About This Book

What do you do when you've just begun life, yet already feel ready to end it? What do you do when the odds of turning it around are only 10-20%? In that moment, you only have one choice: something has to change. For me, change didn't come overnight. It wasn't a week, or a month. It took years. Two to three years of breaking down, rebuilding, and learning to silence the lies I told myself. Answering the Hard Questions isn't just my story. It's an invitation to begin yours. In these pages, you'll find a reflection of life at its most vulnerable, rawest moments. I'll share snapshots of my darkest days, but this book isn't about me alone. It's a book of questions and answers, some I'll give you, but more than 150 only you can answer. This isn't a typical self-help book. It's the book I wish I had. The one that forces you to be honest with yourself, to confront what you've avoided, and to finally change your mind.

Devin Fish

Devin Fish was born and raised in Rockford, Illinois. After graduating from Jefferson High School, he joined the Army on June 7th, 2016, and served for nearly 10 years as a Cavalry Scout and later as a Career Counselor. During his time as a Career Counselor, he wrote Answering the Hard Questions while on a deployment to Kuwait. The book highlights early childhood trauma and the need for meaningful change. Throughout his life, Devin faced instability, self-hatred, addiction, and the tragic hospitalization of both parents and himself. Despite all obstacles, he broke a generational cycle and has inspired many others to do the same.
