About Jenny

About the Author: Jenny Ng

Born in Malaysia, Jenny Ng was named by her uncle, who received the highest education among his 11 siblings of his paternal family, and thought it was an easy name to recall from and for others to remember. Her surname Ng (pronounced “Ung”) originated from the Chinese dialect in Hokkien.

In 2010, she had an awakened moment in one of her breastfeeding nights, her 2-month-old daughter touched her face with her tiny index finger, it was like a magical touch that woke her up from a deep “slumber”, and brought her aliveness. At that moment, she realized that unconditional love is bi-directional, her baby accepted and loved her for who she is and who she is not. This touch released her from her pre-existing belief and blindspot that “She doesn’t deserve love!” Especially she came from a family of seven, she had three younger sisters and one younger brother, her parents had great expectations of her -- Being the first person in her family to go to university. With her young and limited mind, she gathered that her parents only paid attention to her younger siblings, and she had to be a “good sister” to her siblings before her parents could see and hear her. Her needs seemed to be always the last to be attended to.

In 2012, she took up a distance learning Master of Education in Family Education course from University of Minnesota Twin Cities. At the same time, she also set up a social enterprise named Nannies on Wheels that provides on-demand, ad hoc nanny services on-the-go. She wanted to make a positive social impact by providing gainful and meaningful employment to nannies who were marginalized women in the community. Since the awakening moment, she has involved herself in family life education, spreading conscious parenting, learning about getting closer to her True Self by shedding layers after layers of her egoic and wounded self, while growing stronger and revealing her True Self.

Jenny lives in Singapore with her husband, Ivan, daughter Ally, eleven. She is now a conscious mother, conscious spouse, conscious coach and conscious educator for families, teenagers and young adults.
