Lars Jorgensen hails from a family of Olympians. Along with Daniel, his brother, and Niels, his father and coach, Lars represented Team USA at the 1988 summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea. He learned the art of maximizing team potential from his father and many others. As head coach, Lars led the University of Kentucky women’s swimming and diving team to their first Southeastern Conference (SEC) Championships—which they won. He has earned five Coach of the Year Awards: once by the SEC (2021), twice by the University of Kentucky (2017, 2021), and twice by the Mid-American Conference (2007, 2010).
