Lady of the Lake, Rise

Lady of the Lake, Rise

by Annah Taylor Phinny

About This Book

Will you answer the Call? When the psychic pain of an old soul is ready to be released, that pain may cry out to us through trauma or dis-ease, begging to be healed, loved, and liberated. But at the age of thirty-six, diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer, Annah Taylor Phinny didn’t know that. All she knew was that she was embarking on two journeys at once—a physical journey through modern medicine’s chemotherapy and a spiritual journey through training as a Priestess of Avalon.Cyclical, layered, and multidimensional, Lady of the Lake, Rise is as vivid and intimate as the process of healing itself. As her life unfolds in eerie parallels with Inanna’s mythic descent into the underworld, Taylor must pass through seven gates of profound loss and bare her soul to the void, only to be born anew—reclaiming the seven gifts of a sacred birthright that only her soul remembered.

Annah Taylor Phinny is a spiritual healer and a formally trained Priestess of Avalon, an ancient Goddess tradition based in Glastonbury, England. From an early age, Annah was aware of her sensitive, intuitive nature, but lacked the resources and support to help her understand her gifts. At boarding school, she innocently began to offer nightly “readings” for her classmates—something they relished. Unfortunately, the school did not. Annah’s life shifted dramatically and painfully as she was accused of being a “witch,” expelled, and put on medication, causing her to shut down and fear her natural intuitive state. Years of chemically-induced suppression set the stage for a struggle with more complex addictions later. After rehab in her early twenties, Annah began to reacquaint herself with the young girl who “knew things.” Introduced to the legitimacy of her calling by alternative healers and mediums, she began to find her way back to the abandoned teenager who had gone into hiding after the trauma of boarding school. She went on to complete a Master’s Degree program in Spiritual Psychology with an emphasis in Consciousness, Health, and Healing from the University of Santa Monica, as well as her three-year training from the Glastonbury Goddess Temple as a Priestess of Avalon. In the middle of her priestess training, at age thirty-six, Annah was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer and began the most transformative journey of her life. Lady of the Lake, Rise: Breast Cancer as a Path to Wholeness through the Eyes of a Priestess of Avalon is the story of her non-linear, multidimensional healing journey.

Annah lives in service to Goddess and the remembrance of the divine feminine in all beings. She connects others with their wild and ancient selves through ceremony, retreats, and pilgrimage. She resides in the English countryside with her Beloved Michael and is honored to be second mummy to Mia, who knows that faeries are real. To learn more about her offerings, please visit
