Musicality of the Game

Musicality of the Game

by Ryan Bisio

About This Book

What if everything you know about basketball is actually about music?

Championship-winning college coach, FIBA-level tactician, and professional recording artist Ryan Bisio reveals the sport of basketball not as plays and statistics but as a living piece of music. The rebound is a drumbeat, the pick-and-roll is counterpoint, and a missed second free throw can shatter a game's pulse like a dropped bassline. Experience shot selection, substitutions, team chemistry, the whole game, rescored.

Like a concept album, Musicality of the Game moves through four acts and an encore with game stories of impossible odds and hard-won wisdom woven throughout. The result is an approach so intuitive and so complete that once you hear it, you can’t unhear it.

Part coaching manual, part memoir, part love letter to the frequencies that connect us, Musicality of the Game reveals that the deepest secrets of basketball were never tactical. They’re musical.
