About Stephen

Stephen Butler is a management consultant and globally featured TEDx speaker. He studied economics at McGill, earned a PhD at Cambridge, and began his career at Boston Consulting Group before working as an executive and then a tech CEO. Advising growth companies on stubbornly weak productivity led him to the research behind Why Is a Verb, which he wrote with coauthor Karissa Price and which carries a foreword by Marriott's chief human resources officer. He now leads AI at a Bay Area software company.
