About William

William Manzanares IV is a member of the Puyallup Tribe in Washington State, where he was born and raised in the Tacoma area. He grew up unable to read and later learned that he had dyslexia, but he went on to become a serial entrepreneur, owning and operating smoke shops, convenience stores, and restaurants since 2005. In his book, I Can't Read: A Guide to Success Through Failure, he shares the strategies that helped him thrive in spite of his struggles with reading, hoping to improve literacy and to inspire others, especially young Native Americans, to pursue their dreams.
